My new novel is finally here and thus begins the stealth advertising campaign. To save my having to further make a fool of myself, the back cover blurb reads as follows:
As a wilderness guide by profession, Hunt Davies enjoyed an intimate understanding of the kind of remote, inhospitable landscapes through which he led enthusiastic groups of men and women in hiking boots; but this lot were different, and he'd regretted having been fooled into guiding their reckless quest to the frozen Canadian taiga in search of proof that the work of an eccentric forties pulp writer had been truth dressed as science fiction. He'd experienced something much stronger than regret when the reality of the expedition began to stray into a different section of the book store, dragging them all to realms more remote and inhospitable than any could have anticipated. Nevertheless, he did what he could to take it in his stride, even when his stride took him from the streets of Oxford, to the world to come, and ultimately to the very foundation of the entire cosmos; and even if it were true that he'd eventually get around to writing it all down and selling the book to cranky strangers, right now it really felt like bullshit.
I generally try to avoid jumping up and down while screaming BUY MY AMAZING BOOK at anyone who happens to be passing, but I will say I'm very pleased with this one, and even more so than with previous efforts. This one feels as though it comes closest to what I wanted to write by some margin.
Copies can be purchased here.
Thank you for your attention.
